Dr Jessie Jacob

Education

Dr. Jessie Jacob has been a general dentist since 1994. She graduated from India with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and moved to Canada in 1999. Dr. Jacob then joined the Advanced Placement program and graduated from the University of Alberta. Before opening Signature Smilez Family Dental, she worked as an associate dentist at various dental clinics in and around Edmonton.

Practice Philosophy

Dr. Jacob has extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry and prides herself on her strong dedication to patient care. Her commitment to excellence, quality, and detail in her work, and her focus on patient comfort is commendable. Dr. Jacob finds educating patients and improving their oral health and smile to be extremely rewarding. She goes the extra mile to make a positive difference in the well-being of her patients.

Home Life

Dr. Jacob lives in Edmonton with her husband and two children, and takes every opportunity to travel, enjoy the outdoors and spend quality time with her family. She enjoys spending her time volunteering at schools, churches, inner city programs, and on dental mission trips.

Dr Tanushi Ambekar

Education

Dr. Tanushi Ambekar graduated from India with her Bachelors of Dental Surgery in 2008. Since then, she has practiced dentistry in various health settings - urban, rural, and as a lecturer in a dental school. She moved to Canada in 2012 and got into the Advanced Placement program and graduated from the University of Alberta in 2019. She worked in Red Deer for a year before she joined our team.

Practice Philosophy

Dr. Ambekar is exceptional when it comes to patient care. Having had traumatic dental experiences as a child, Dr Ambekar empathizes with her patients throughout their dental appointment. Her commitment to excellence, quality, and her focus on patient comfort is commendable. Dr. Ambekar loves educating her patients and ensuring they have positive experiences every time.

Home Life

Dr. Ambekar lives in Edmonton with her husband and two beautiful daughters and loves to sing, knit and spend time outdoors. She is also associated with a non profit organization and mentors foreign-trained dentists in their journey to get their license to practice in Canada.

Saji has been the business consultant for the practice since 2004. Even though he is busy with his Project Controls Manager duties with a different company, he dedicates his time and lends his expertise to ensure the practice runs efficiently. In his spare time, Saji is engaged in leadership training and volunteers at different churches and outreach programs for the underprivileged. These volunteering opportunities have allowed him to serve others while also travelling the world.

Joanna has been involved with the clinic work since our first dental practice opened! She recently moved home after completing her dental degree abroad and currently spends her time involved with the marketing and social media aspects of our clinic.

In her spare time, Joanna enjoys travelling, gaining new life experiences, playing sports, and creating art and music. Joanna always looks forward to volunteering and giving back to her community! She loves coming home to spend time with her family and her dog.

Celia immigrated to Canada from France in 2018 with her family. She received her diploma in 2013 and worked as a dental assistant before moving to Edmonton. She is fluent in four languages - English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. She is a dependable team player in our office as she is friendly, proactive and dedicated to her work. She is always smiling and happy. She loves travelling, discovering new cultures and spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, singing, cooking and swimming.

Cecilia has been a part of Signature Smilez Family Dental since 2012. She came to Canada in 2007 from the Philippines with her husband. She is fluent in English, Tagalog, & ILocano. Her hobbies include watching anime and telenovelas, cooking, singing and playing the guitar. She takes care of sterilization and maintains the cleanliness of the office, along with other administrative duties. She calls herself the “jack of all trades, master of none.”

She shows hospitality by bringing people together. She expresses her compassion by using her time and talents at various church events.

Anu graduated in dental hygiene from the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries. She has been passionate about the dental field since she was a teenager. Her goals are to provide every patient with the comfort they require, along with educating about oral health. Anu is excited to expand her knowledge in this field and learn from her peers and treat her patients in the best way possible. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Mohammad came to Canada as an immigrant with his family and his passion in the dental field empowered him to challenge the exams and get registered as a dental assistant. His passion for dentistry was sparked by watching teeth with cracks, chips and stains transformed into beautiful pearly whites. He constantly strives to expand his skills by continuing his education. He is fluent in Arabic and English, likes to interact with people from various backgrounds, and is a family oriented guy who loves food, cars, sports, and adventures.

Michelle moved to Canada from the Philippines with her family. She graduated from CDI College as a Dental Assistant in November 2021 and passed the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) a month after. She loves working as an assistant, with her passion for dentistry starting from when her father’s friend spoke with her - they were a dental hygienist trying to become a dental assistant at the time. Michelle never realized that becoming a dental assistant would be so interesting. She has such a warm and bubbly personality! Some of her hobbies include cooking, watching K-dramas, listening to music and spending time with her loved ones.

Prajyot was born and raised in Nagpur, India and went to the State University where he earned his degree in Dental Surgery. As he found his passion in Dentistry, he started volunteering in small towns across his state with a mission of spreading healthy smiles. He moved to Toronto in 2016 where he earned his Diploma in Dental Hygiene.

Whenever he is not working, he can be found listening to music, playing guitar, hiking in the mountains or biking around trails.
